SS hardware that had been exposed to the elements for a couple of weeks or so (a copper ground rod clamp that I had SS hardware on). The bolts had seized, and I thought I'd never get it apart - As I remember, I had to cut the bolts off! >>> There are different grades of SS. Hy-Gain used to sell a SS bolt for their boom-to-mast clamps that would *rust* within weeks, and of course seize if you tried to remove it. I don't know if they're selling the same bolt anymore... Last summer, I had a commercial tower taken down (for redeployment at my QTH...). It had been up since 1976. On the tower, and part of my booty, were various antenna side-mounts. They used SS hardware that's nearly as shiny and clean as the day they were made. BTW, I've found a really great site for SS hardware, and all kinds of cool "stuff": McMaster-Carr Supply Company http://www.mcmaster.com . I have not ordered anything there - yet - but it's a super Web site. They have U-bolts available in different grades of SS. 73, Steve, NN4X (ex KC2X) <<< nn4x@evcom.net >>> -------------------------------------------- Force12Talk mailing list provided as a service by Force 12 Antennas, Inc.
