Hi, John --

That's a pretty subtle point that I doubt is appreciated by too many
people.

Yes, the same amount of U-bolt thread should be sticking out on each
side; otherwise the U-bolt is cocked crooked around the mast. It obviously
decreases the U-bolt grip on the mast.
