Subject: Spacers

Ralph,

Spacers are not needed on the C3S as the distance between drivers is greater
than on the "XR" series where we include an appropriate spacer. However if
the three drivers on your antenna are not parallel to one another --- they
need to be as this situation will cause VSWR and problems when in high wind.
The position with respect to one another is usually off due to the "U" bolts
holding the element to the boom to element bracket being tightened
incorrectly. You can move the element quite a bit by not having equal
exposure left on the "U" bolt. If one side has more than the other half of
the "U" bolt showing, it will pull the element off and you are left with an
element askew. Please verify that you have equal exposure so all the
elements in the driven cell are aligned parallel to each other.
