manual. My highest SWR was/is about 1.5:1 on 14.080 - Everywhere on 15M, and 10M it is much lower and pretty flat/wide. Furthermore, playing with the feed wire spacing and the coil really only made minimal changes. Mine is at 72 ft and is fed with over 600ft of feedline. However, I got basically the same measurements in the field with about 80 ft of Bury-Flex and the MFJ tester. Of course, I cannot tell you if my element lengths are different that those of other hams. I started out measuring each one to make sure it was the same as the manual stipulated during assembly, but I know I got lazy about that when they were all seeming to be OK. I figured I'd measure the SWR, and if it was bad, THEN I would recheck all the element lengths! I have a Glen Martin hazer, so it's no big deal to put it up and down! HI MINE IS GREAT - DON'T HESITATE TO BUY ONE!! I LOVE IT!
