choose which antennas to put on my two new 70' towers. Here in Puget Sound (Western Washington), we have only 2 or 3 lightning storms each year. But we do have our share of rain(50/60 inches here in Olympia which isn't all that high). It doesn't rain hard, mostly drizzly with the droplets small. I surmise that the charge on droplets is small based on low lightning activity. I will appreciate comments, especially from similar qth's. Also, wouldn't wire dipoles be similarly effected? Insulated or non-insulated wire? I plan to install a ground rod for each leg of the tower. With such low lightning activity, it may be overkill but it only takes one strike!(?). Comments please. k7puc ----- Original Message ----- From: "Pete Smith" <n4zr@contesting.com> To: <Force12Talk@qth.com> Sent: Thursday, August 31, 2000 8:07 PM Subject: Re: Fw: [Force 12 Talk] Isolated elements > At 11:11 AM 9/1/00 +1200, Barry Kirkwood wrote: > >Hello Force 12ers, > >Am interested in this.
