I have used the semi-clear for years with great results. I was using the stuff made by Permatex. Formula differences due to a different manufacturer maybe? 73, Doug N6AYW A closed mouth gathers no foot! -----Original Message----- From: BobD [mailto:k1vv@tmlp.com] Sent: Monday, September 25, 2000 11:15 AM To: Doug Charette; force12talk@qth.com Subject: Re: [Force 12 Talk] Weatherproofing 40 mtr switchbox We have found the WHITE silicon to be far better than the SEMI-CLEAR which will de-laminate after a year or so ..after it has been in the sun you can peal it off the connector with your fingers .. We have had the GE WHITE silicon on antenna PL259 connectors for up to 7 years and you still had to cut it off to remove it ...the PL259 was shiny and looked like new ... .... and the White may even last longer than that . 73 Whitey K1VV ----- Original Message ----- From: "Doug Charette" <dougc@kaweahnb.com> To: <force12talk@qth.com> Sent: Monday, September 25, 2000 12:33 PM Subject: RE: [Force 12 Talk] Weatherproofing 40 mtr switchbox > Silicon caulk and silicon rubber caulk are actually the same product.
