Subject: C3SS vs. C3S on 6 and 17 Meters

My C3SS at 42 feet performed adequately on 17m - SWR around 3.5:1. My
guess is, it was fractionally better than a dipole and a nice bonus on what
I had installed as a 'tribander'. I spent some time in getting the tip
lengths and linear loading adjusted for 20/15/10, then just took whatever
performance was left on 17/12. I also measured and adjusted the element
spacing in the driver cell, to ensure that the elements were parallel (I'd
set them up by eye, but they were out a little).

12m worked OK but not outstanding, SWR about 3:1. On 20/15/10 it worked
fantastically, busting pileups first call and nettng me a world top ten
performance in ARRL CW.

Can't confirm the SWR on 12 & 17 as the shippers just took the antennas
away for shipment to our new home in California (an old expression about
shipping coals to Newcastle comes to mind here!)
