guess is, it was fractionally better than a dipole and a nice bonus on what I had installed as a 'tribander'. I spent some time in getting the tip lengths and linear loading adjusted for 20/15/10, then just took whatever performance was left on 17/12. I also measured and adjusted the element spacing in the driver cell, to ensure that the elements were parallel (I'd set them up by eye, but they were out a little). 12m worked OK but not outstanding, SWR about 3:1. On 20/15/10 it worked fantastically, busting pileups first call and nettng me a world top ten performance in ARRL CW. Can't confirm the SWR on 12 & 17 as the shippers just took the antennas away for shipment to our new home in California (an old expression about shipping coals to Newcastle comes to mind here!)
