is handled by a tuner....I'm not at all impressed with the performance at these two bands, but Force 12 makes no claim to any gain for 17 and 12 meters, so I just consider it a rotatable dipole......sometimes, my real wire dipole out performs the C3E on 17 and 12.........73......k6sdw -----Original Message----- From: wa4dou@juno.com [mailto:wa4dou@juno.com] Sent: Tuesday, October 24, 2000 4:13 AM To: force12talk@qth.com Subject: Re: [Force 12 Talk] C3SS vs. C3S on 6 and 17 Meters Hi Thor, Sorry about your C3SS not performing up to expectations on 17 meters. I suspect your model of the C3SS is defective, because mine has an swr around 2.5-3:1 on 17 meters. Also, i've found the antenna to be useable on 6 meters, certainly better than nothing, but no where near the performance of my 5 element 6 meter yagi at 22 ft. The C3SS is at 53 ft. and the 6 meter pattern, in the real world is a 4 leaf clover, not bi-directional. 73 Roy WA4DOU ________________________________________________________________ YOU'RE PAYING TOO MUCH FOR THE INTERNET!
