I run a roof mounted C3S about 3.5m (11') above the roof line of my downtown row house. Lot is about 4.7m (15.5') wide and neighbours wiring, etc. are closer than my own - HI. Also always park the antenna to align the boom carefully to stay on my property - when it rotates, the elements sweep over half of the adjoining lots! Some telephone and stereo RFI given the close spacing to theirs, mine, etc., as expected. Joys of big city living. The C3S works fine on 5 bands - 15 and 20 are considerably better than the TA33jr it replaced, 10m seems slightly less. Great to now have 17 and 12 (with tuner of course) - some F/B, but basically a rotatable dipole. Also, low end of 10m SWR is not great even with elements as long as they can go - been told by others that this is due to low mounting height - counter intuitive that shorter wavelength would be more effected by being low... Still 5 bands on one feedline isn't bad and it is competitive! Had it up two years now - was at 298 DXCC, now 320 with 100 watts. You work with what you have! 73, George VE3YV / K8HI -------------------------------------------- Force12Talk mailing list provided as a service by Force 12 Antennas, Inc.
