Subject: ungrounded Yagi elements

I believe Force 12 does not ground the driven elements
because of the matching system. If they were grounded it
would require three seperate gamma matches and three feedlines, a mechanical
nightmare. I believe it would be possible to ground
the reflectors it it did not cause interaction, but the lengths
of the reflectors would change. As far as lightning goes it really
is a factor of how well the tower and coax is grounded.
Noise would be the same as this is dependent on electrostatic charges on the
ends. The end impedence is still high on an open end element grounded in
center.
