Hi Barry - the only way to handle tuning the 40m elements properly is to
resonate them separately, preferably while individually suspended >20 feet
above the ground. Details on the old Force 12 web page under tech notes.
It is useful to keep in mind that the resonant frequency is determined by
the jumpers, while the hairpin does impedance transformation only (though
there may be some interaction).
