I'm a little more optimistic then most that this is a do-able option if you understsand the forces involved and guy appropriately. I would like to refer you to an article in May 1994 QST by Bob Haviland titled "Amateur Use of Telescoping Masts". It is very detailed and should give you enough infomation to decide if your idea would work or not. 73 chris, n4vi IronmanY2k wrote: > > Has anyone mounted a C-3SS on a telescoping mast section? I was wondering if it would be good to mount the mast against the house and go up another 15' from the house with guying the mast at the top. Any ideas, recommedations or comments would be welcomed. > > tnx, 73 > Jim, AD6WL > > ad6wl@arrl.net > > _____________________________________________________________ > Get a free YourName@Triathlete.com e-mail address at http://www.triathlete.com > > -------------------------------------------- > Force12Talk mailing list provided as a service by Force 12 Antennas, Inc. > Web sites: http://www.qth.com/force12 and http://www.force12inc.com > > Submissions: send to Force12Talk@qth.com > To unsubscribe: send a blank e-mail to Force12Talk-leave@qth.com > Force12Talk Message Archive: http://www.qth.com/force12/list/force12talk > For problems with the list, contact n4zr@qth.com -------------------------------------------- Force12Talk mailing list provided as a service by Force 12 Antennas, Inc.
