My QTH is right on the coast and the TH-5 traps would become deranged when a bit of a blow coated them with salt from the atmosphere. The C-3S has less F/B but by subjective rating has as good or better forward gain. Also superior mechanically and only about half the size and weight. 73 end Barry Kirkwood PhD ZL1DD Signal Hill Homestay 66 Cory Road Palm Beach Waiheke Island 1240 NEW ZEALAND www.waiheke.co.nz/signal.htm ----- Original Message ----- From: Hank Phillips <aa4hp@titustek.com> To: <FORCE12TALK@QTH.COM> Sent: Saturday, May 25, 2002 4:15 PM Subject: [Force 12 Talk] TA-33 Vs C-31XR > I replaced a Fritzel FB-33 (a TA-33 lookalike but better mechanically) with > a C-31XR about two years ago after getting fed up with putting new traps on > the FB-33's driven elements.
