I have a 180B almost ready to go up. It will be at 124' atop a 16' mast
(with a C31 and Mag340N between it and the tower top so -no tinkering once
it is up.

We have pulled it up to 60' for tuning--only philly guys close and it is
pulled out 3-4 feet from tower.
Tuning jumpers set per F12 to 27" we have moved these as much as 5 inches
without solving the problem.
The manual says that there is one 4 turn (relay one) and one 9 turn (relay
two) BUT my box has one 6 turn and one 10 turn ????
Relays are checked and switching properly.
The antenna tuned perfectly out of the box WITHOUT the relay box
With the box it seems to be ok or at least close in the CW only portion of
the band

The problem occurs when switching in relay two to access the phone portions
of the band. The frequencies are consistently 40-60 Khz or so too high. When
it should switch to 3790 it will be 3840, when it should be 3830 it will be
3890. These are close approximations but the pattern is clear. Cw
close----phone +40-60Khz

After many tries the last chart at dark last night was

Both realys should be 3830 was 3898
relay 2 should be 3790 3844
No relays " 3510 3516
realy 1 " 3550 3565

The book says that frequencies are individually adjustable but there are no
instructions at all as to what is what or what to expect. We did move the
jumpers out, open up the 10 turn coil and juggle with those back and forth,
each time raising and lowering but no cure. I mailed both Natan and Tom but
it is early and have not heard back. Any help, ideas or suggestions are very
much appreciated. Thanks, Tommy WD4K

Subject: [Force 12 Talk] Antenna seperation distance question....

My tower project is progressing to the stage where I'm ordering
the mast this week. The guestion here is this: I'm putting an XR5
up and I am also considering getting EF-606 to put up as well. So
assuming I have 10ft of useable mast length to work with how
much seperation do I need between the antennas?? Has anybody
got any feedback on what, if any, interaction they have had with an
antenna setup similiar to this?? Help and advice would be most
appreciated as this is my first tower setup.

Respectfully,

Don Thaxton
