Subject: C31XRs in SO2R ???

For clarification...........I am able to listen on any one of the three
bands covered by the C31XR while transmitting high power on any other one.
With the Dunestars in circuit apart from direct harmonic interference I only
have some modulation of the noise floor to tolerate. Listening on one band
while transmitting on another (both with the C31XR) works pretty well. Not
perfect but well.

Having satisfied myself that the C31 works usefully in SO2R with 3 feeders,
I now plan to stack three of them fed with 3 feeders and 3 Stack Matches on
120ft of rotating tower and with a Magnum 340N at the top. I then plan to
put my TH11 on the present tower for use as a mult antenna and to get me
back on the WARC bands. I will leave the XM240 above the TH11 and at right
angles to it. My overall plan is to achieve a good level of M/S & M/2
functionality here. I don't have the real estate to warrant spending any
time thinking seriously about M/M.

Incidentally, my Six Pack is in the shack. I chose to bring all of my coax
cables directly into the shack and do my switching there. I felt that would
give me maximum flexibility. I have stubs connected across my 160/80 and
40m antennas on the antenna side of the SixPack. In each case the stubs are
only 6ft of cable away from the amp output sockets. A stub on the 20m feed
to the C31XR would be a help on 10m but there is a complication. If I
attach a stub directly across the 20m feed from the SixPack then my SWR on
15m is badly affected. I spoke to Tom Schiller about this but he seemed
convinced I was mistaken! I'm not and with 100W power levels I have
satisfied myself that the problem can be resolved adequately by putting a
20m bandpass filter on the antenna side of the stub. I haven't done this
yet as I need a high power 20m bandpass filter. I will probably have to
make one.

The C31XR is a great antenna and I'm betting a stack of three will be even
better.
