Subject: Sigma 5 - Effect of nearby objects on SWR?

The manual for the Sigma 5 does not discuss the impact of nearby objects on
the antenna. Generally speaking how near can an object, such as wood fence,
be to the Sigma 5 without affecting the SWR of the antenna?

I have placed one near the fence and the SWR is terrible on most bands.
Later today I will be experimenting to see the impact from the fence and
determine how to locate the antenna to see if the situation can be improved.

In a tight situation it is desireable to be able to locate the antenna
parallel to the fence or near a shrub to help hide it.

The lack of any way to adjust the tuning may be a negative.

Jim
