We took a C3 to the North Cooks last year and are leaving again on the 15th with the same C3. We inserted all of the rivets and taped them over. We were there, right on the edge of the water for two weeks, and there was no problem getting them out and the tape held just fine. We did point the element so the rivets were facing up. I think we will only put in two rivets at each joint this year. This year we are also taking verticals in addition to the C3 and a 3 element Fluid Motion Stepper. It will be interesting to compare all three types of antennas. Just go with the rivets inserted and tape them. 73, Roger, W7VV / ZK1VVV -----Original Message----- From: Ray Cameron [mailto:wq7r@lvdi.net] Sent: Saturday, September 28, 2002 8:40 AM To: Force12Talk@qth.com Subject: [Force 12 Talk] C3s dissasemble Hello all, I am considering a C3SS for DXpedition use. Need to know how much time and trouble it is to pull the rivets from the elements.
