A good example might be what happened last night on 40m. YA3GIB was hard to copy here, but me and CT1EIF decided to give it a try. I have a C4XL and he own's a C4. I worked the Dx after a couple call's, and my friend spent an extra half an hour trying...Then someone pick up a list, and not even via a "net controler" he worked him. Simply because he couldn't copy his report! Ok. Maybe the radio makes a bit of a difference (I was using the 950SDX and he has the TS-2000), but the extra elem on 40m is a great help, too! Ok, a 3 element monobander is better. But if you don't have much space, the C4XL is probably the best solution on the market. 73 F.Costa, CT1EAT http://www.qsl.net/ct1eat -------------------------------------------- Force12Talk mailing list provided as a service by Force 12 Antennas, Inc.
