Subject: F12 Verticals

Echoing these comments, I pput my C3E on a roof tower while I was
putting the real tower in. Actually it wasn't a "roof tower" mine was an
old TV tripod, total package up about 35 ft. Worked great! Don't
discount how effective that combo is. That being said, the rest is just
tradeoffs, the verts will work, and at times work very well, especially
the 40 vert. Like the other guys have said, you will work em just have
to wait. Even with the beam on the BIG pileups you still have to have
propogastion to the area, and may have to wait until it gets managable.
There are the guys in the front row: Big towers, multiple phased yagis,
legal limit, then the smaller towers, single yagi legal limit, then no
amp, then smaller tower, then the verticals, an amp can help you move up
one row in terms of being hears but, of course, the amp doesn't help you
hear at all. Lots of DX out there, you would have fun with any of these
setups. Good luck
