Subject: Sigma 40 installation

I am considering the purchase of a Sigma 40 Vertical. But I would like the
opportunity to try it out in a couple of locations on my property before
making a more permanent installation (sinking the base in cement). Is it
possible to sink the base in soil and use guys to support the antenna prior
to a more permanent set up? Has anyone tried this or a similar
semi-permanent installation? Any help would be appreciated.
