contest. Had it setup out on a frozen lake in northern Michigan and operated out of a portable ice fishing shanty...used an FT-100D at five watts and worked stations from Alberta to Florida, California to Maryland, and got very good signal reports. What a great portable antenna! I fabricated stands for the feedline out of three pairs of eight foot 1 x 2 fir strips, placed about ten feet apart, in order to keep the line as perpendicular to the antenna as possible. Wondered what anyone else has done to keep the feedline from coupling with the antenna, especially for portable use?
