24" in dia. if needed...:-)) The golf bag could run $100 to 200, this PVC should be $20 to $40 total with strap. Just glue a "cap" on one end and a Thread by Slip collar on the other, use a threaded "plug" for entry and reseal... The big dia stuff may be hard to find in small quantities, maybe consider using 2 or 3 smaller dia tubes and spread the element and boom chunks among them...Home Depot should have 4 or 6 inch available. Don't forget your mast, at least enough to allow a crossover to something local, eh? You can "attach" some web strap and form a sling for easy carry through customs. Just double over the strap where you are going to attach it, use a small metal plate on top of the strap to spread the forces out, drill a small hole and use a large PK or metal type screw...short, don't let it come through the thickness of the wall. This will keep the strap from slipping up and down the tube as you carry it... Use 2" wide strap! IF security gets interested, have a copy of your lic with you and let them "see through" the tubes of the ant. Check them as baggage, no carry on. Check the airlines for max length...it may vary from carrier to carrier... Maybe even carry the ant assembly instructions with pictures with you. Make sure you get some form of declaration of MADE in the USA for ease of reentry when you return...there is an exit form if I remember right. Carry a copy of your purchase receipt if possible. Get some extra insurance...just based on wt. will leave you very short if replacement is needed! Most travel agents can assist with this item. GOOD LUCK and enjoy, Mel Frost KD7DCR -------------------------------------------- Force12Talk mailing list provided as a service by Force 12 Antennas, Inc.
