Several years ago i errected approximately the same beam( mine had triband plus 2 elements on 40). I did not test anything on the beam including the 40m linear loading. Every time I look up at my beam I kick myself in the pants(mentally) for not testing before the final installaion. I am resonanat about 7.280 whioh is much too high for my 40 meter operating desires. if I had it to do over i would test it before final install. Even if you could only get it upp 15 or 20 feet' on top of a guyed ladder or mast of some sort. I have to live with four years of regret. Not a fun feeling for such an expensive antenna. -----Original Message----- From: Wes Cosand [mailto:wz7i@arrl.net] Sent: Saturday, November 15, 2003 3:26 PM To: Force12Talk@qth.com Subject: [Force 12 Talk] Assembling a EF-240/230H I am in the middle of assembling a new EF-240/230H and having a lot of fun. If I am compulsive about measuring the tuning jumper positions will I be OK or do I have to take each element plus a 6' section of boom to the correct height and check the resonant frequency? The antenna will be installed at 80 feet, 12 feet above a 12 element Sommer Wes, WZ7I -------------------------------------------- Force12Talk mailing list provided as a service by Force 12 Antennas, Inc.
